The Captain Dave is the fourth octopus in the game.

Appearance

The Captain Dave is coloured royal blue. It has a thick brown beard and moustache. It also has an eyepatch on its right eye with almost the same color as the beard. On its front right tentacle, it holds a golden hook. On top of its head is a black hat with a skull embedded on each of its sides. The Captain Dave also seems to be wearing clothes striped with white and blue underneath its eyes, indicating a sailor's uniform.

Description

His tentacles can grow back, he just enjoys putting a hook on it.

• Octopus tamed.
• Ride past 1500m in Ocean.

Note: Its chance of appearing is low due to it being a tier 4 animal. It will appear randomly but not often, and never before 1500m.

• The Captain Dave is a play on a pirate, hence the appearance and name, though its name may be a reference to several characters:
  • Captain David Williams, a Welsh sailor who became a pirate.
    • The Captain Dave seems to be wearing sailor clothes on its body, which may support this reference.
  • Captain Davy Jones, a fictional pirate in the well-known series Pirates of the Caribbean.
    • Captain Davy Jones has numerous octopus tentacles as his beard, which also supports this reference.
  • Dave, an octopus and the main antagonist of the film Penguins of Madagascar.
• The Jean Lafishe, Crabtopher Condent, Caliblow Jack, and Blackfin are the other Ocean animals that reference pirates.

Notes

• The Captain Dave was released in version 2.14.0 on the 14th of January 2023.
• Like all other octopus babies, the Baby Captain Dave was bugged in that its colours were dull and muted.
  • This was fixed in version 2.15.0 on the 17th of February 2023.
• Upon release, the Baby Captain Dave and the Baby Takoyaki models were swapped.
  • This was fixed in version 2.15.0 on the 17th of February 2023. However, this change did not only swap the Baby models, but also the abilities of the babies, resulting in a new error.
