Base animals are animals which are the first normal species of that animal. They can only be found and befriended through normal play. They must be befriended before the player can build a habitat of the respective animal species and befriend the remaining animals of the respective species. They do not give any animal mastery XP, and are classified under tier 1. The full list of base animals is below.
