The Cock-a-doodle-emu is the eighth emu in the game. It could only be obtained by purchasing it in the 2017 Chinese New Year event for 300
, and after purchase it can be found permanently in the stampede. After the 18th of May 2017, in update 1.8.0, it was re-released and reclassified as an endangered animal, meaning that it can only be found on certain random days. Its match can then be found on certain random days after the player tames it.
Appearance[]
The Cock-a-doodle-emu has a tall crest fading from red to yellow with four points, going from shortest to tallest from front to back. Its red beak has dangling bits called wattles on each side, its eyes have red diamonds around them and a ring of red and yellow leaves or feathers wraps around the base of its neck. Its back is orange in the middle, with red fading to purple at the edges, and edges and sides that are coloured a yellow and red gradient. Red feet are attached to the Cock-a-doodle-emu's yellow legs, and its neck is coloured an off white and amber gradient. Its tail is vibrant, with three long, downwards-bending feathers coloured purple and fading into blue at the tips, as are its wings, which are also purple, with a yellow marking shaped like a lightning bolt.

This rooster only crows when the stars align once every 12 years.

- Sky Zoo upgraded to Outback 3 or greater.
- Emu tamed.
- Purchase for 300
during 2017 Chinese New Year Event. - Ride past 1600m in Outback (Cock-a-doodle-emu match can be tamed).
After May 18 2017:
- Sky Zoo upgraded to Outback 3 or greater.
- Emu tamed.
- Can only be tamed on a certain random day, and can only be matched on a certain random day after it has been tamed.
- Ride past 1200m in Outback.
- After it is matched it can be found permanently in the stampede.
Note: Its chance of appearing is extremely low due to it being a tier 5 animal. It will appear randomly but very rarely, and never before 1200m.

- The Cock-a-doodle-emu is a play on a rooster, which relates to Chinese New Year celebrations as 2017 was the year of the rooster in the Chinese calendar.
- The name is a portmanteau of 'cock-a-doodle-doo', which is the onomatopoeia for the call of a rooster, and 'emu'.
- The description references how the Chinese calendar follows a twelve year cycle, with the year of the rooster coming around every twelve years.

- The Cock-a-doodle-emu was first released on the 25th of January 2017 in version 1.5.0 to celebrate Chinese New Year, expiring in version 1.6.0 on the 8th of February 2017.
- It was re-released permanently on the 18th of May 2017 in version 1.8.0 as an endangered animal, where its tier, XP value and breeding time changed from 4, 12 and 8hrs respectively to what it currently is.
- The Cock-a-doodle-emu could be obtained when expired from the 21st of April to the 20th of May 2017 during the Emu Challenge.
