The Cricket is the sixth grasshopper in the game. It is a boss animal, meaning that in order to tame it, the player must complete a minigame called a boss mission. After successfully taming, it can be found permanently in the stampede.

Appearance[]

The Cricket's body is coloured navy blue on top, which fades into a play dough green colour. Covering its body and at least half of each of its legs are cricket whites, and a cricket bat sits by its right side. Its wings are coloured mint green. On its head is a cricket helmet, with a blue top and a white grille.

Description[]

Struggles with leg before wicket.

Requirements[]

  • Garden 1 unlocked.
  • Grasshopper tamed.
  • Grasshopper habitat upgraded to level 7.
  • Unlock (see how to unlock boss mission here) and complete Cricket boss mission (tips for completion are below). From here it can be found in Garden permanently.
  • To be found in the stampede: Ride past 1600m in Garden.

Note: Its chance of appearing is extremely low due to it being a tier 5 animal. It will appear randomly but very rarely, and never before 1600m.

Tips for Boss Mission[]

The Cricket boss mission is not very difficult, with the player simply being required to jump through a scatter of giant coins. There is enough space between for the player to easily pick out where they want to land without having to change their decision. The player must be over level 6 to complete this mission, meaning steering isn't a major issue.

Baby Cricket[]

Baby Cricket
  • Lasso starts 12% larger
  • Bucks are 10% smaller
  • Lasso shrinks 1% slower (passive)

Trivia[]

  • The Cricket is a pun on the sport cricket and the insect cricket, an insect closely related to grasshoppers.
    • The cricket references continue in the Cricket's appearance and its description, which references leg before wicket (lbw), a form of dismissal in cricket. This plays on how crickets have six legs as opposed to two, like humans.

Notes[]

  • The Cricket was released in version 1.15.0 on the 22nd of March 2018 along with Garden and the first five Garden species.
