The Hierogryphon is the ninth VIP animal.
Appearance[]
The Hierogryphon has a body similar to the Griffin. Its main body colour is red, although the Hierogryphon also has white wingtips and many yellow and aqua decorative elements. It has a tall, yellow and aqua, Egyptian-style headdress, radiating a blast of bright, white, light, along with the same coloured neck, wing, and feet jewellery. The face is white, with a greyish beak and black markings around its eye. Its tail is shaped like a staff, or a magic wand, with two yellow square bangles arranged at different angles from each other, and a dark hexahedron making up the tip of its tail. Among its other effects are its three yellow trails, one from each of its two wings and one from its tail, as well as an excessively bright yellow light produced from its torso, which lights up not just the Hierogryphon, but the whole screen.

Behaviour[]
- When ridden: The Hierogryphon can eat animals ahead of them, and jumps up and flies if there are no animals ahead. Feeding the Hierogryphon more animals will make it stay happier for longer.
- When angry: The Hierogryphon bucks the player up and eats them before falling asleep.
- In habitat: The Hierogryphon mostly remains curled up, resting. It will occasionally look up and yawn, or stand up to walk around and change position.
- Selected in habitat: The Hierogryphon gets up onto its feet and roars to the sky, leaning back.
Trivia[]
- The name Hierogryphon is a pun on the Egyptian language, hieroglyphs, being a portmanteau of 'Hieroglyph' and 'gryphon', an alternate spelling of 'griffin'.
- The description also mentions a Sphinx, which is an Egyptian statue that has similar jewellery to the Hierogryphon.
- It may also be a reference to hieracosphinxes, Egyptian creatures that resembles a griffin.
- The Hierogryphon is one of five animals having an Ancient Egypt theme, the others being Taweret, Pharaohdactyl, Anubis, and Scarab Beetle.

- The Hierogryphon was released in version 1.24.0 on the 23rd of October 2019 on iOS and the 25th of October on Android, along with all pangolins, roosters, kirins and other VIP animals.
- The Hierogryphon was originally going to be called the "Hieroglyphon".
- In version 1.26.1 on the 17th of February 2020, the Hierogryphon gained abilities that made it equal to an upgraded griffin, with some improved attributes.
