The Hip Hop Hippo is the fourth type of hippo the player can find in the stampede.
Appearance[]
The Hip Hop Hippo has a DJ-like appearance. It sports a red backwards cap with a white rectangle on it and a black peak, as well as black headphones covering both of its ears. The Hip Hop Hippo also wears a white shirt and jungle green pants on its hind legs. It has a significantly darker skin colour than the Hippo, possibly coloured in this way to reflect the large proportion of coloured people involved in hip hop music.

- The Hip Hop Hippo is a play on hip hop, a genre of music incorporating break dancing, DJ record-scratching, sampling and rapping.
- The description plays on the music genre hip hop in referencing The Notorious B.I.G., a deceased rapper known as the king of rap and flow.
- The Hip Hop Hippo is one of three animals that reference hip hop music, the others being the Dime-metrodon and the G-Rex.

- The Hip Hop Hippo was released in the original release, version 1.0.0, on the 22nd of June 2016, along with Savannah and all original Savannah animals, Jungle and all other original Jungle animals, and the Sky Zoo.
- The Hip Hop Hippo had an error in its name in that the H's in at the front of 'Hop' and 'Hippo' were written with lowercase letters in-game.
- The Hip Hop Hippo's name in the soft launch was originally "Hiphopapotamus".
- The description was also different, being "It's lyrics are bottomless."
