The Mountain Gorilla is the second gorilla in the game.
Appearance[]
The Mountain Gorilla is extremely similar to the Western Gorilla, with its only differences being that its fur is a dark grey in colour, and the hairless areas of its body are a more muted yellow. Its head has grey hair styled in a coif pattern, so that it almost resembles a mountain.
Description[]
An increasingly rare breed. Some say a good coif makes for an even greater ape.
Requirements[]
- Sky Zoo upgraded to Jungle 1 or greater.
- Western Gorilla tamed.
- Ride past 500m in Jungle.
Note: Its chance of appearing is high but not guaranteed due to it being a tier 2 animal. It will appear often but not necessarily in every run, and never before 500m.

Trivia[]
- The description is a reference to the real-life mountain gorilla's critically endangered status. It does not hint that the Mountain Gorilla is becoming increasingly rare in-game.
- It is also a play on a real-life mountain gorilla's increased amount of hair, particularly on its head, and the Western Gorilla's description, stating that its hair is what makes it an "even greater ape".
- The Mountain Gorilla is one of two animals that reference a real life gorilla, the other being the Western Gorilla.

- The Mountain Gorilla was released in the original release, version 1.0.0, on the 22nd of June 2016, along with Savannah and all original Savannah animals, Jungle and all other original Jungle animals, and the Sky Zoo.
- The Mountain Gorilla's description was different in the soft launch. It once read "Found in the mountains of Central Africa."
