The Petrodactyl is the eighth pterodactyl in the game. It can be found in the stampede when the player upgrades their pterodactyl habitat to level 9.
Appearance[]
The Petrodactyl has a white body and a black crest with a small ember at the tip. Its eyes are filled out completely red, contrasting wildly with its black head. Its wing bones are black, and its wings itself being a red to yellow gradient. Angry flames plume from its wings, and a single line of fiery light streams behind, giving the Petrodactyl a wicked aura.

Requirements[]
- Space Zoo upgraded to Jurassic 5 or greater.
- Pterodactyl tamed.
- Pterodactyl habitat upgraded to level 9.
- Ride past 1800m in Jurassic.
Note: Its chance of appearing is extremely low due to it being a tier 5 animal. It will appear randomly but very rarely, and never before 1800m.

- The Petrodactyl is a play on petrol and oil, with its name being a portmanteau of 'petrol' and 'pterodactyl'.
- Its appearance references this, as petrol is a highly flammable liquid.
- The description plays on this with several puns: "slick", being a name for a mate as well as an oil slick, and "fossil-fuelled", which plays on how oil is a fossil fuel. This also reverse plays on how dinosaur evidence can be discovered from "fossil[s]".
