Blue whales are the fifth species of animal available in the Ocean Zoo. Blue whales are smashing animals. There are 8 different types of blue whale.

Behaviour[]
- Wild: Blue whales appear fairly rarely and usually by themselves moving forward at a slow rate.
- When ridden: Blue whales suddenly move at a rapid constant rate, and are able to smash into anything in their way except for giant central rocks, side arches and other blue whales if the player has upgraded their blue whale habitat to level 2.
- When angry: Blue whales stop, take a breath, and use their blowhole to throw the player off.
- In habitat: Blue whales swim around, and hop once from time to time.
- Selected in habitat: Blue whales swim up slightly and open their mouth slightly, before swimming to their original position and closing their mouth.
Tips[]
Blue whales are good short-term animals as they are simply invincible to everything except giant rocks, side arches, other blue whales and walls if they are upgraded to level 2. They are most useful later on when the player is moving too fast to be able to react sufficiently as the player can simply run through without any worries, although they must be prepared for when the blue whale is angry, where it throws the player off.
Habitat Upgrades[]
- Level 1 - Ride for an extra 1.5s before a blue whale gets angry
- Level 2 - Allows blue whales to smash through rocks
- Level 3 - 2x more blue whales in the stampede
- Level 4 - While riding a blue whale, crates are worth 2x more
- Level 5 - Gain 50% more ticket money from blue whales
- Level 6 - Get bonus coins by smashing obstacles on blue whales
- Level 7 - Oxygen depletes 5% slower
- Level 8 - Ride for an extra 1.5s before a blue whale gets angry
- Level 9 - 2x more rare blue whales in the stampede
Notes[]
- Blue whales were released in version 2.4.0 on the 18th of July 2022.
- Several level upgrades have errors, where the words "A" and "Blue Whale" are not supposed to be capitalised.
- This was corrected on version 2.8.0 on the 19th of September 2022.
- Blue whales were originally supposed to be sperm whales (from the Sixth Anniversary Design Competition poster), but the idea was scrapped.
