Crabs are the second species of animal available in the Ocean Zoo. Crabs are throwing animals. There are 6 different types of crab.

Behaviour[]
- Wild: Crabs move horizontally across the stampede, attempting to make the player bump into them.
- When ridden: Crabs move sideways facing right, and move quickly. When the player jumps off a crab, it will stop, pick up the player in their claws, and throw the player powerfully, sending them flying forward. The player's lasso will not activate for about 20m after jumping off a crab, meaning close-by animals cannot be landed on.
- When angry: Crabs will immediately throw the player off in the same manner as if the player chooses to jump off a crab manually.
- In habitat: Crabs occasionally hold food in their claws and eat it.
- Selected in habitat: Crabs raise their claws in the air and snap three times.
Tips[]
The distance that crabs throw the player is great, making it easy to reach oxygen bubbles more quickly. This, combined with upgrading the crab habitat to level 7, gives a huge amount of coins if left to fly for a few seconds. Crabs also earn 2x more money from crates (level 3), which is huge considering crates in Ocean provide far more 
than in other zones. Landing on them also won't reduce the player's lasso size upon upgrading the crab habitat to level 6.
Habitat Upgrades[]
- Level 1 - Ride for an extra 2s before a crab gets angry
- Level 2 - Oxygen depletes 5% slower
- Level 3 - While riding a crab, crates are worth 2x more
- Level 4 - Jumping from a crab temporarily increases lasso size by 20%
- Level 5 - Gain 50% more ticket money from crabs
- Level 6 - Landing on a crab doesn't reduce your lasso size
- Level 7 - Get bonus coins for longer jumps from crabs
- Level 8 - Jump further from crabs
- Level 9 - 2x more rare crabs in the stampede
Trivia[]
- Crabs are the only animal species in the game with different eyes than every other animal, with the pupil being on the top right rather than being in the middle, and the pupil being a rectangle rather than an “L” shape.

- Crabs were released in version 2.0.0 on the 14th of April 2022, along with the Ocean Zoo, Ocean and all original Ocean species.
