Dragonflies are the fifth species of animal available in the Garden, and the twenty-second in the Space Zoo. Dragonflies are flying animals. There are 9 different types of dragonfly. Like all Space Zoo animals, more dragonflies are unlocked progressively as the player upgrades the dragonfly habitat. They can be unlocked when the player upgrades their ship to Garden 3.

Behaviour[]
- Wild: Dragonflies appear flying above the stampede, pausing every so often.
- When ridden: Dragonflies fly at a quick rate, with their wings vibrating rapidly.
- When angry: Dragonflies swoop low to the ground, each time rising high enough to clear animals and small rocks.
- In habitat: Dragonflies stand and walk around with wings folded upwards. They will occasionally twitch their wings and scratch their face with their front legs.
- Selected in habitat: Dragonflies flutter just above the ground for a short moment.
Tips[]
Taming dragonflies is difficult at first due to the frequent, irregularly timed pauses. To lasso dragonflies, it is important to come directly from behind and expect to have to lasso earlier than previously expected. Dragonflies can be seen to be the best long distance animal in Garden, with very good agility, small size and low ground time. Its swooping can clear small rocks and animals, making it easy to traverse through tight spaces, while its speed means that the player can travel very far very quickly. The player is also unable to trigger the release of spiders when riding dragonflies.
Habitat Upgrades[]
- Level 1 - 2x more dragonflies in the stampede
- Level 2 - Add two new rare dragonflies to the stampede (Sympetrum, Damselfly)
- Level 3 - Jumping from a dragonfly temporarily increases lasso size by 20%
- Level 4 - Ride for an extra 1.5s before a dragonfly gets angry
- Level 5 - Add two new rare dragonflies to the stampede (Dragonwhy, Dragonfruit Fly)
- Level 6 - Dragonflies pause less often, and their swoops take longer to reach max speed
- Level 7 - Get bonus coins for swooping on dragonflies
- Level 8 - 2x more rare dragonflies in the stampede
- Level 9 - Add a new rare Dragonfly to the stampede (Dragonboat Fly)

- Dragonflies were released in version 1.15.0 on the 22nd of March 2018 along with Garden and other original Garden species.
