Kirins are the thirty-third species of animal available in the Space Zoo, and the eighth in Great Wall. Kirins are Throwing Animals. There are 9 different types of kirin. Like all Space Zoo animals, more kirins are unlocked progressively as the player upgrades the kirin habitat. They are available from Great Wall 6, and can only be found from 1000m onwards.

Behaviour[]
- Wild: Kirins sit outside the stampede area, floating on a cloud next to walls and cliffs.
- When ridden: Kirins bound up and down jerkily, somewhat similarly to angry buffalo. They are able to travel on thin air, off the side of cliffs, by forming clouds as they bound. When the player jumps off, kirins stop and smack the player forward with their tail.
- When angry: Kirins stop and smack the player forward with their tail.
- In habitat: Kirins stand and walk around in the habitat. They occasionally shake their body somewhat vigorously.
- Selected in habitat: Kirins growl towards the sky, with their head going up and their tail going down.
Tips[]
Kirins, due to being stationary and found on the very side of the screen, can be difficult to tame, with flying animals or slower animals such as non-angry horses and monkeys giving the best chance at finding and taming one. Kirins can be useful in how they can literally avoid everything for the time that the player rides one, however, the player must ensure they are steering towards the stampede by the time a kirin gets angry (except when there is a crane nearby), so they are thrown off with the chance of landing on another animal. They are easier to control when upgraded to level 7.

Trivia[]
- The behaviour of kirins, namely, how they begin floating in the air on clouds and can travel on air by bounding on clouds, references the Buddhist depiction of kirins being peaceful, to the extent that they will walk on clouds in fear of harming even a blade of grass.[1]
Notes []
- Kirins were released in version 1.24.0 on the 23rd of October 2019 on iOS and the 25th of October on Android, along with pangolins, roosters and VIP animals.
