Swordfish are the eighth species of animal available in the Ocean zone. Swordfish are speeding animals. There are 9 different types of swordfish.

Behaviour[]
- Wild: Swordfish move relatively slowly.
- When ridden: Swordfish move at a faster pace.
- When angry: Swordfish accelerate dramatically and throw the player off when they hit an obstacle smaller than the swordfish (requires level 3 habitat). They can also smash any animal once when the habitat is level 3 or above.
- In habitat: Swordfish swim around, and hop once from time to time.
- Selected in habitat: Swordfish swim up slightly and swing their bill from side to side.
Tips[]
Swordfish are capable of getting the player from the start to 2000m very quickly and easily. They are easy to control and run very fast, making them an excellent long-distance animal. Swordfish also have benefits in that, if the player's swordfish habitat is at level 3, and the player hits an obstacle smaller than a swordfish, the player is thrown off and has a chance of latching onto another animal. The level 3 habitat upgrade also allows the player to smash one animal when the swordfish is angry. Additionally, swordfish earn 2x more 
from crates at level 8, which is also very useful.
Habitat Upgrades[]
- Level 1 - 2x more swordfish in the stampede
- Level 2 - Get bonus coins while travelling at top speed on swordfish
- Level 3 - At high speeds swordfish will throw you clear if you crash
- Level 4 - Ride for an extra 1s before a swordfish gets angry
- Level 5 - Gain 50% more ticket money from swordfish
- Level 6 - Oxygen depletes 5% slower
- Level 7 - Jump further from swordfish
- Level 8 - While riding a swordfish, crates are worth 2x more
- Level 9 - 2x more rare swordfish in the stampede
Trivia[]
- The level 3 upgrade does not mention how the swordfish can smash an animal at level 3 onwards.
- Swordfish were the winner for a poll in which the players had to choose the ninth ocean animal to be released in the game.
Notes[]
- Swordfish were released in version 2.13.0 on the 23rd of December 2022.
- Upon release, swordfish lacked an animation when moving in their habitat.
- This was fixed in version 2.16.0 on the 16th of March 2023.
