Trout are the seventh species of animal available in the Ocean Zoo. Trout are darting animals. There are 7 different types of trout.

Behaviour[]
- Wild: Trout move relatively slowly.
- When ridden: Trout move at a fast pace (however, slower than most other Ocean species), slightly wobbling.
- When angry: Trout dart forward every 0.5 seconds.
- In habitat: Trout swim around, and hop once from time to time.
- Selected in habitat: Trout spin around themselves one time.
Tips[]
Trouts are ubiquitous above 2000m, and their darting ability can be used to get to the next oxygen bubble faster. Their level 3 upgrade allows them to be easier to control when angry. However, at level 7, angry trouts sacrifice some speed in exchange for more control, which, while, it's easier to avoid obstacles, it is harder to get to the next oxygen bubble faster.
Habitat Upgrades[]
- Level 1 - Ride for an extra 1.5s before a trout gets angry
- Level 2 - Get bonus coins for riding a darting trout
- Level 3 - Trouts are easier to steer while darting
- Level 4 - Takes 10% less time for the Ocean zone to recharge
- Level 5 - Gain 50% more ticket money from trouts
- Level 6 - Ride for an extra 1.5s before a trout gets angry
- Level 7 - Angry trouts dart slower
- Level 8 - Oxygen depletes 5% slower
- Level 9 - 2x more rare trouts in the stampede
Trivia[]
- Upon release, all trout did not have a swimming animation when in their habitat.
- This was fixed in version 2.16.0.
