Obstacles, or traps are mechanics in Rodeo Stampede. They appear in every world. They come in 2 types: Trap animals, and obstacles.

Trap Animals[]

Trap animals are animals that try to inhibit the player on purpose. Aside from walruses, they are all eating animals. They appear in every zone apart from Savannah, Mountains, Olympus and Great Wall. There are 3 types: waiters, surprisers and chasers.

Animal Zone Type
Alligator Jungle Waiter
Drop Bear Outback Waiter
Walrus Tundra Surpriser
Tyrannosaurus Rex Jurassic Chaser
Spider Garden Chaser

Obstacles[]

Obstacles or traps are more common. They take on the form of something that appears in the way.

Obstacle Appears Description
Rock All Rocks are similar to trees, however almost every smashing animal requires a habitat upgrade to be able to smash them. However, a select few animals are able to smash them without upgrades.
Shrub All except Ocean Shrubs are harmless to all animals. They can be smashed by anything, and eaten by stegosauruses. They are counted as obstacles in obstacle-smashing missions.
Wall All Walls are simply barriers at the sides of the stampede. No animal is able to smash them.
Tree All except Ocean Trees are the most basic obstacles. They can be smashed by every smashing animal without upgrades and can be smashed by some other animals as well.
Central Rock All except Mountains The central rocks, as their name implies, are very large rocks that are usually found at the centre of the stampede. They are indestructible and behave like walls.
Cliff All except Savannah and Jungle Cliffs, like the name implies, are cliffs at the sides of the stampede that appear commonly. Falling off of them will end the run.
Water Savannah, Jungle, Outback, Jurassic and Olympus Water slows most animals down when riding through. Some animals, however, are boosted by them.
Burning Tree/Shrub Outback Information can be found on the fire page.
Outhouse Outback Outhouses behave like rocks, however they spawn the Spying Fox in Outback 5 if smashed.
Windmill Outback Windmills behave like rocks, however they spawn the Spying Fox in Outback 5 if smashed.
Ice Tundra Ice is slippery, and is hard to control on. Some animals have good control on ice, and some baby animals can allow the player to have better handling on ice.
Volcanic Rock Jurassic Volcanic rocks are found in the Jurassic past 1000m. They fall from the sky with warning markers. They will kill the player if they fall on them, and can also smash unridden animals in the stampede.
Lightning Olympus Lightning behaves similarly to volcanic rocks, albeit also being able to burn the player. More information can be found on the fire page.
Web Garden Webs can be found either on walls or between two blades of grass on the main stampede. Passing through them with most animals will cause a spider to appear.
Arrows Great Wall Arrows will always be shot from the left side of the screen, and have warning symbols before impact. Being shot by arrows will result in the player being killed.
Coral Ocean Corals behave like trees, only smashed by animals whose habitat upgrades/natural ability allow them to smash coral.
Kelp Ocean Kelp behaves like water, slowing down any animal riding through.
