Hi all cowboys/cowgirls! Exciting news here!
Halloween Event Released[]
It's late, but it's here. The 2020 Halloween Event has been released. Head to the App Store/Play Store and update (I think it's not out for Apple yet, but it will be very soon). The event is an exact copy of the 2018 Halloween Event, but there's a lot to enjoy, such as scaring off ghosts, the decorations and of course the EPIC music.
Version B News[]
Yodo1 released a video about the upcoming version B update, confirming that it will be in place soon. Here's the video:
We will need lots of help with this as soon as it's released, so stay tuned. If you would like to help, comment below or send me a message on Discord or my message wall.
What is Version B?[]
Version B is a version of the game that is on trial right now. Currently, I think only about 10% of new users have access to this version. I've had a chance to test it out myself too though, through SRDebugger, and there's lots of big changes about it.
UI and Progression[]
This version is like a completely different game. There's a new "Rodeo guy" (official name based on game files) who introduces the tutorial (I think he's a little creepy but oh well). Then when you look into the game, the Map screen is totally different. The whole game's progress is now one big long string, going from part 1 to part 186, and to progress to a new part, you have to complete missions, tame animals and spend some coins, just like normal.
The progression system also allows you to unlock parts of each world, so you unlock 5 animals of Savannah and then move onto the next world, Tundra. Then you unlock 4 Tundra animals and move back to Savannah. After that you go to Jurassic. You don't get to choose the world you go to next, it is assigned to you by the fixed levels you have to complete. Below are some screenshots of the map screen:
And so the new unlock order of worlds is:
These world icons also look totally different; here they are:
To play, you press the Play button, where you get a chance to see all the worlds, and then choose which one you want to play. You can play any world that you've unlocked. You don't access the worlds from the map screen anymore. The worlds also show you if you have a mission there in the Play screen. Finally, you'll notice I'm saying "world" instead of "zone". That's cause this seems to be the new official name.
Gameplay[]
Not much has changed: all the worlds are still the same in-game, there's still the same animals, etc. However, the most notable thing is that ENERGY () HAS BEEN REMOVED! This means that there is no difference between Space Zoo zones and Sky Zoo zones in terms of gameplay. You no longer have to spend to play Jurassic, Olympus, Garden or Great Wall, so you can play those worlds as much as you want. This also means there's now crates in those 4 worlds, and doing missions in those worlds gives money. Notice the crate in Jurassic in the image to the right.
The catch with this is that in all worlds, you now can't unlock all animals at once. You get 2 new rare animals, such as "2 new rare buffalo", every few map upgrades. There are a few good things about this though. For Space Zoo animals, because there's no more "Add 2 new rare (species) to the stampede" upgrade, all Space Zoo animals now have much better abilities. For example, the raptor can earn 3x coins from crates. Also, the parasaurolophus, which had 2 "Energy drains 10% slower in the Jurassic" upgrades, has now received 2 upgrades that boost its ability instead, because there's no energy. I've attached screenshots of both of the new abilities and upgrades below.
Another new thing is that there's tickets in the game, you may have noticed them in my last post. What these pink tickets do is boost the amount of rare animals. Each ticket only lasts 1 run. I actually used this to find the Fire Lion, which still took ages to find. When you use one, your player has a lot of flashy glowing effects around them. It effectively acts the same as a rare animal boost from the Lucky Spin. In fact, in the Lucky Spin there's a ticket option instead of the rare animal boost. Rare animals boosted by tickets don't have a clover on them, while animals boosted by the Lucky Lamb still do. I've attached screenshots of a run in Savannah with tickets, and one without: the difference in rare animals is night and day.
