The Vermillion Phoenix is the twelfth phoenix in the game. It was first released as a part of The Love of our Fans event.

Appearance

The Vermillion Phoenix has multiple colourful features, including a bright red face, an orange ruff behind it, a yellow beak, a fiery, punk hairstyle, a yellow body with orange feathers on the top, red wings which fade to lower opacity at the wingtips, a yellow line running near the end of the wings, a white shape on the top of its wings, and orangey-red legs. Additionally, the Vermillion Phoenix has five decorated feathers at its end, with blue, orange, and violet for the larger three feathers, and green and yellow for the smaller ones. The Vermillion Phoenix also emits five different colours of light which correspond with its feathers.

Requirements

• Space Zoo upgraded to Olympus 3 or greater.
• Phoenix tamed.
• Obtain in events:
  • Collect 28 in The Love of our Fans event.
• Once obtained, ride past 2000m in Olympus.

Note: Its chance of appearing is extremely low due to it being a tier 5 animal. It will appear randomly but very rarely, and never before 2000m.

Trivia

• The Vermillion Phoenix is a reference to the Vermilion Bird, a mythological creature and one of the four symbols of Chinese constellations.
• The description also mentions cloud iridescence, the state when clouds appear chromatic due to iridescence, the phenomenon of when a surface appears to change colour as the angle of view changes.

Notes

• The Vermillion Phoenix was released in version 2.19.0 on the 15th of May 2023, as a part of The Love of our Fans Event.
• The Vermillion Phoenix was designed by the user Hungrysushi as a part of the Animal Design Competition. The post is here.
• The 'Vermillion' in "Vermillion Phoenix" is spelt incorrectly, as the mythological bird's name is spelt with a single 'l'.
  • A common misconception is that 'vermilion' can be also spelt as 'vermillion'. However, it is not conceptualised or stated that the creature itself can be spelled both spellings, hence why it is an error.
  • Additionally, in the original design (can be seen below), the Vermillion Phoenix is called 'Vermilion'.
• The description contains two errors, where 'iridescende' is misspelled, and should be 'iridescence', and a period is missing at the end. Additionally, like the name, 'Vermilion' is spelt incorrectly.
