Zoo Coins () are the main currency of Rodeo Stampede, being the only currency, alongside Badges, that is not a limited time event currency.
Appearance[]
Zoo Coins are in the shape of an octagon. They are a light gold in colour, with a slightly lighter raised "Z" symbol in their center. The "Z" has a line running vertically through the top and bottom, invoking that of a dollar sign ($).
Uses[]
Zoo Coins can be used for:
- Upgrading animal habitats in the Sky Zoo.
- Building and upgrading Parks.
- Expanding the Sky Zoo.
- Buying energy ().
- Reviving in the middle of a run.
- Completing breeding early.
- Purchasing animals and avatars in The Stampede.
Zoo coins are fundamental in the player's zoo, with the constant earning of the Sky Zoo being balanced out by the constant expenses of the Space Zoo, in which spending on is the only reliable way of having enough to complete Space Zoo zones. It is for this reason that money making strategies are important.
Shard Value[]
When are earned in the stampede, or when the zoo is opened, appear in the form of coloured shards or gems. Each shard is worth a set amount:
Colour | Image | Value () |
---|---|---|
Yellow | 1 | |
Green | 10 | |
Red | 50 | |
Blue | 250 |
Obtaining[]
can be acquired through several different ways.
- The first, and probably most notable way is opening the zoo for business. This lets a number of families enter the zoo for a flat fee of Zoo Coins each. The player can run a tour every six hours (except in very early game, where the player can open their zoo in 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 1 hour in their first few zoo openings). The amount of they gain from doing this is based on the Zoo Ticket Price multiplied by the number of families:
- The Zoo Ticket Price increases as the player tames more animals.
- In the Sky Zoo, double block habitats give 2 per animal tamed, while single block habitats give 1 per animal before the level 4 habitat upgrade.
- In the Space Zoo, all habitats give 1 per animal.
- In the Ocean Zoo, all habitats give 1 per animal before the level 5 habitat upgrade.
- The Zoo Ticket Price can be multiplied by using an advertisement, or the Cash Cow.
- The number of families who visit the zoo increases as the player moves to higher Sky Zoo zones:
- The Zoo Ticket Price increases as the player tames more animals.
Zone | Number of Families |
---|---|
Savannah | 2 (first zoo opening only)-9 |
Jungle | 10-19 |
Mountains | 20-29 |
Outback | 30-45 |
Tundra | 46-55 |
- The second method of earning Zoo Coins is from crates, which appear in the stampede. They give the player a number of gem-like objects, each amounting to a set number of based directly on their colour.
- Thirdly, the player can earn from completing Sky Zoo missions. This is quite a reliable way of earning , although the reward is not quite as high as crate smashing. The value of missions, like the number of families in zoo openings, increases as the player reaches higher Sky Zoo zones, in which the values can be found here.
- Fourthly, the player could obtain by getting them from an animal's bonus. The 7th upgrade of every Sky Zoo animal habitat allows the player to gain bonus coins by completing an action on that habitat's respective animal. For example, the player can gain extra coins while bucking on a buffalo, or stay in the water on a hippo. In the Space Zoo and the Ocean Zoo, every animal species also has a coin upgrade, however, they are given at random levels.
- The least reliable way is to collect dropped by visitors in the zoos. Each of these will be worth only a meager amount of coins, though, so this method is mostly a gimmick, rather than a genuine coin production method.
- Additionally, can also be obtained by buying things in the Shop or becoming part of the VIP Program, but both of those options require real money to complete. A small amount of is obtained by opening a gift in the Special Offer menu in the Shop, which can be done for free every three days.
